Subsurface Construction is a privately owned company that has over 40 years of combined experience in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). HDD is a state of the art, trenchless installation process allowing product to be installed beneath all types of surfaces and difficult terrain while minimizing the environmental impact on the area and reducing restoration cost and time. We pride ourselves in having the experience and technical expertise to complete unique and challenging projects. This includes the most experienced Geothermal Horizontal Loop Field crew in the region. Our services are proudly offered in the upper Midwest, with recent projects completed in Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa. We have the capability, equipment and experience to perform directional drilling work in congested and urban environments as well as more suburban locations. Our many customers include major contractors, medium sized contractors, municipalities, utility companies, television and media cable companies, utility companies, private companies, geothermal drilling services to HVAC contractors, and even residential homeowners with their own individual drilling needs.

Subsurface Construction has experience drilling in a variety of soil conditions and substrates such as clay, silt, sand, loam and gravel. We are often able to cross steams and rivers as well as marshes and swamps with no impact on the environment. We do this by mixing the right personel with the best equipment. Our equipment is state of the art and from the top names (Vermeer/Ditch Witch/Kabota/John Deer/VacMasters).
